Weightlifting in Olympic 2008 will be held from August 9 to August 19. This year the Olympics will be held in Bejing. Weightlifting Competitions will be held at the Beihang University Gymnasium.
Weightlifting was included in the first Olympic Games in the year 1896. However, at the Olympic Games in 1900, no competitions in weightlifting were held. Again in the year 1920, weightlifting was integrated regularly into the program of events at the Olympics.

Qualifications for Weightlifting in Olympics 2008
A National Olympic Committee may enter a maximum number of 6 men and 4 women participants with up to 2 entries in each weight class.
