Christa Luding is the only woman in the history of sports who received medals in both Winter and Summer Olympics in the same year.
She participated in skating in 1980. She secured the12th and 18th positions in the 500 meter and 1000 meter categories respectively. She received the gold medal in 500 meter category in Sarajevo Winter Games of 1984.
